This Northern Hawk-Owl faces the camera, loosely wrapped in dark mauve fabric that could be a tee shirt. The video is framed by the torso of the rehabilitator sporting a blue PPE isolation gown and a pair of thick leathery gloves in a shade of warm vanilla. Two of the owl’s talons curl around the index finger of the glove, criss-crossed. The gloved hand of second rehabilitator appears from out of frame to feed the owl with a pair of tweezers. The owl quietly snacks on the bite-sized chunks of raw protein, and throws its head back for easier swallowing.

This Northern Hawk Owl is a true foodie and arrived into our care with TWO broken wings! He won’t let that stop him, and is on the mend after undergoing surgery to pin the fractures.
We reached out to Wildlife Haven who reported back saying:
This owl healed well and has been released back into the wild.
So, good news all around 🙂
Link to donate to Wildlife Haven for those willing and able.
