Boobook Before and After

A Boobook owl is burrito'd in a two-tone towel that's peppery black on the inside and salty white on the out. The tip of a pale grey beak pokes past the fold of the towel, exactly like the OIT logo. The owl's eyes are a brownish yellow-green with a singular tube light reflected in each pupil. One eye is half closed due to swelling from his head injury, but this look could easily be mistaken for glowering... Owls that scowl.
With eyes so wide they're practically popping out of their sockets, the same Boobook is once more wrapped in a towel in a clinical setting. This time the cloth is decorated with white stripes and alternating bars of pastel yellow, magenta and cyan, the latter of which is wrapped in a black double helix like it's the Rod of Asclepius. Fitting, given it symbolises health and renewal, and this owl looks both healthy and renewed (and extremely alert).

Boobook recovery!
This Boobook owl was found on the side of the road by a keen eyed driver who knew something didn’t seem right. He went back, scooped up the [concussed] owl and brought him to Mosswood. The Boobook was assessed, given some meds and time to rest!
Nearly 1 week on and his eye is looking vastly improved, won’t be long now and he can be released back home ❤️‍🩹🦉

The Boobook is pictured from behind, looking over his shoulder at the camera, head tilted. Very candid. Very demure.
The Boobook's body is pointed away and to the left, while his head is turned to face the camera, ever curious. One eye's pigmentation is a little darker than the other, presumably due to the head injury. The enclosure is carpeted with soft fabric, and has an artificial perch wrapped in camouflaged tape - in muted tones of charcoal-brown and taupe - to look like a real branch. By contrast, the Boobook's feathers are brighter, more vivid shades of brown and caramel, like a tiramisu.
