It’s possible this Short-Eared Owl was windswept, in search of food, or just plain lost, but then again SEOWs are known to travel long distances. Whatever the case this one was looking for a place to rest, and so perched itself atop a fishing rod, in this 2023 viral video:
The two fishermen in the video managed to get the owl into a blanket, and later released it back at the Sarasota shore in Florida.
