A Screech Owlet is wrapped in a small towel, held by rehabilitator wearing a blue glove. The towel is white with turquoise stripes and trim. A wooden surface appears behind. The owl’s eyes are artichoke green, and feathers a fuzz of smoke and charcoal. An extra eyelid a.k.a. “nictitating membrane” appears in a few frames of the video: a slightly translucent layer to keep the eyes moist and free of dust. The owl slow-blinks 3 times, mouth slightly open, as if it were trying to make sense of the fur-less hominid holding a camera.
Fairly certain this is a screech owl, but can’t tell if Eastern (EASO) or Western (WESO). It’s cute either way.
