– Keep cats indoors<\/a> (cats kill small owls and large owls kill cats)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Put up owl nest boxes<\/a> (only if you are sure the neighbours aren’t using baits)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Leave dead trees standing (to provide nest holes and calling perches for owls)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Report nesting owls<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Don’t feed owls<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Give owls space<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Replace your barbed wire fences<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Make non-barbed wire fences more visible<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Take down soccer nets when not in use (owls get caught in them)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Let your lawns grow (mowed grass doesn’t support the species owls prey on)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Observe young owls on the ground to make sure they need help before intervening<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Report people who are harming or selling owls<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Drive more carefully after dusk<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Protect old growth forests and protect habitat<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Avoid using artificial lights after dark<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Keep your drones away from owls<\/p>\n\n\n\n
