This appears to be a Striped Owl (Asio clamator) in southern Brazil, and from context, likely Rio do Sul in Santa Catarina.

with the title So, an owl got into my parent’s house

Atlusfox:

That’s the most interesting new born baby I have ever seen. 🙂

JohnEffingZoidberg:

Surprised it was staying so still.

OOP:

It did make a mess when it got in, but after a little while they calmed it down. It is not rare for birds to get into their house because it has a lot of windows, at first they get pretty desperate, trying to get out through solid glass panes so we usually open every window we can, hoping that the bird will just fly out, or we try to catch it, to calm it down and release it outside later.

Aedora125:

How does one calm an owl down?

Various other comments:

Read it stories, have it take deep breaths, maybe offer it a glass of Chardonnay.

and then tell them that they are beautiful and matter in this world

OOP:

Mostly wait for it to stop panicking, then try holding it gently

gavenl337:

So they adopted it???

OOP:

No, it’s been released

Original text in Español:

Nuestra “Gema” preciosa (Búho Listado – Asio clamator).

Our precious “Gema”, (Striped Owl – Asio clamator). I was healing her because she got a little wound while trying to climb to the highest part of the biggest enclosure. Now, she is okay. 🙏
It must be difficult for this bird to deal with the missing wing that allowed her to fly before.
